A casual, social group hosting dog friendly events; we’re six years old (42 in dog years). St. Almo get togethers are a fun way to make new friends—both two and four-legged! You don’t need to bring a dog to participate. Sunday evening dog walks are ongoing. We have two annual events that raise money for animal welfare. Wag-O-Ween is a trick-or-treating event for costumed dogs in downtown Savannah. Ghost Walk with Dogs also takes place in historic Savannah. Professional tour guides take canines and humans on a creepy, spirited walk.

  • Volunteer with a rescue group.
  • Foster an animal.

Wag-O-Ween 2010 Was a Blast!

Thanks to all businesses, volunteers, and trick or treaters! Over $2500 was given to the Manes & Danes rescue group.

This year's costumes - both canine and human (and reptile!) - were amazing. On Wag-O-Ween afternoon, most tourists downtown were taking photos of trick-or-treating dogs!

St. Almo appreciates all the businesses who gave out dog cookies. We hope they had fun. And to all those who took their dogs  trick or treating, we hope you will remember these businesses and shop locally! There are wonderful shops and restaurants downtown and many are dog friendly.

Photos will be posted soon. If you have Wag-O-Ween 2010 photos you would like to have posted, please email us.

An enormous THANK YOU to Pressworks for donating the printing of the Wag-O-Ween maps.  Ike and Mike, the awesome cats who "manage" the Pressworks Eisenhower location, wish there was a Wag-O-Ween for felines.  We can't imagine how that would work, but dream on, guys!

Pressworks is at 209 W.Congress St. (912-232-4139) and 201-A Eisenhower Dr. (912-355-7550).

Ghost Walk with Dogs Spring 2011 The Spring 2011 Ghost Walk with Dogs was wonderful. Once again, Savannah Movie and Ghost Tours did a fabulous job as our tour guides. (Did you know their tours are dog friendly? Keep that in mind!) Also thanks to the Pink House for after tour refreshments. We received the following note from the Islands Feral Cat Project.
"Last night's ghost walk was lots of fun! We raised $275.00. We wish to thank everyone from ST. ALMO'S and Savannah Movie and Ghost Tour Company for their time and effort. We had great weather, and the pooches were well behaved, and seemed to enjoy all of the attention! Thank you everyone! Purrs and Meows! Melonie, IFCP"
