Wag-O-Ween 2010
Saturday, October 23
This year Wag-O-Ween will benefit Manes & Danes, Inc.

A casual, social group hosting dog friendly events; we’re five years old (35 in dogs years). St. Almo get togethers are a fun way to make new friends—both two and four-legged! You don’t need to bring a dog to participate. Sunday evening dog walks are ongoing. We have two annual events that raise money for animal welfare. Wag-O-Ween is a trick-or-treating event for costumed dogs in downtown Savannah. Ghost Walk with Dogs also takes place in historic Savannah. Professional tour guides take canines and humans on a creepy, spirited walk.

Ghost Walk with Dogs attracted a great group of dogs and people!  The Islands Feral Cat Project received almost $500 in donations and they were thrilled.  We so appreciated the enthusiastic tour guides from Savannah Movie Tours who donated their time.  (Remember they also give Foody Tours, Shopping Tours and Martini Tours!)   It was really good of the Pink House Restaurant to have complimentary hors d' oeuvres for the humans and large bowls of treats and iced water for the dogs. They went the extra mile on a busy Friday evening.  Thanks to Becky for orchestrating that!

Wag-O-Ween 2009 – A Success!     (click here to see photos)

Thanks to all who purchased maps. The Humane Society took in over $1800!

St. Almo appreciates all the businesses who gave out dog cookies. We hope they had fun. And to all those who took their dogs  trick or treating, we hope you will remember these businesses and shop locally! There are wonderful shops and restaurants downtown and many are dog friendly.

Eric Wooddell took great care to put all the trick or treating sites on the map which he designed. He also helped us promote the event.Look him up on FaceBook to see some of his artwork. Contact him if you need a logo design: eric.wooddell (at) gmail.com  (Change the '(at)' to an @ sign first!) THANK YOU, Eric! We are grateful for your artistic talent and your helpful spirit.
